Zabbix Certified Specialist Practice Exam

The choice of inventory management as not being a main function of the Zabbix Server makes sense in the context of how Zabbix is primarily designed to operate. Zabbix Server's core responsibilities include data collection, problem detection, and notification.

Data collection involves gathering performance metrics and monitoring data from devices and applications, which is fundamental to how Zabbix functions. This enables administrators to keep track of system performance and resource usage.

Problem detection is another critical function, where Zabbix identifies issues or anomalies in the monitored systems. It helps in proactively discovering problems before they affect operations significantly.

Additionally, notification is the mechanism through which alerts and messages are communicated to users based on the parameters and thresholds set in Zabbix. This ensures that stakeholders are informed in a timely manner if issues arise.

In contrast, while Zabbix does include inventory capabilities, it is not its primary focus or a main function. Inventory management in Zabbix refers to the ability to manage and track the configuration of hardware and software assets over time, but this is more of a supplementary feature than a primary operational function. Thus, the correct answer highlights the distinction between Zabbix's core monitoring capabilities and additional features.
